Energy Type
Learning your and your child’s energy type is crucial to understanding how you both operate, and the energetic roles that surface in your relationship. It also shows us how we are best able to serve others. Different types have different levels and cycles of physical energy, and learning to live in flow with this part of our nature helps to live a more peaceful, joyful life. Bringing the details of your child’s energy type to their awareness will give them a deeper understanding of their own nature, and learn how to live in alignment with their design. In this post we’ll be discussing Manifestors and Manifesting Generators. Below is a brief description of the role of each type:
Manifestor:
Manifestors are the Initiators of society. Designed to follow their creative urges, they build new organizations, establishments and concepts for others to perpetuate. It's important for Manifestors to have the freedom to act on their impulses and make decisions independently from an early age. Because they are meant to act from their inner truth (even in the face of opposition), it’s crucial to nurture their sense of personal authority. Without a reasonable level of freedom and respect, Manifestor children may turn passive or rebellious- thus ignoring and disconnecting from their inner truth. Teaching these types of children to politely ask for permission before acting will allow them to do what they wish in most circumstances. As they develop into adults, asking permission shifts to ‘informing’. They’ll need to take a moment to consider who will be impacted by their actions, and then inform those potentially affected what the plan is. Their reaction/opinion is not meant to be swayed by informing; informing is meant to eliminate resistance by removing things that are not in alignment with the Manifestor. Unlike the majority of the population (Generators/Manifesting Generators), these types do not have a consistent supply of physical energy. Manifestors are designed to work in large, focused creative bursts, and then take ample time to rest before the next creative urge. It can be helpful to not expect total consistency from these children. Because the ‘Not-Self’ theme of this type is anger, it’s important to help them reflect on the source of this feeling. Teaching young Manfiestors that this emotion is meant to redirect them on their path by making changes will encourage their sense of inner authority.

Be clear and direct in your communication with others to avoid misunderstandings.
Don't be afraid to pursue your own vision, but be mindful of how your actions affect others.
Take time to recharge your energy and reflect on your decisions before taking action.
Manifesting Generators
Manifesting Generators are a combination of the Generator and Manifestor energy types. These types have the bountiful physical energy of the Generator and the initiating energy of the Manifestor. As children, it's important for Manifesting Generators to have a variety of experiences and opportunities to explore their interests and passions. These types are the most multi-passionate of all! It’s helpful not to force them to stay with one activity after they’ve lost interest, because they are designed to move quickly and follow their excitement. They are designed to lift us from the energy of the mundane through their example of playing with life. They have a powerful and consistent energy source that is designed to be exhausted before going to sleep at night, and they will be highly resistant to naps if they’re not tired! Because they move so quickly, sometimes Manifesting Generators can skip over important steps. It’s important to encourage them to survey which things cannot wait until the end to be dealt with, and that they’re handled along the way. It’s also important to encourage them to follow their own passions, as others will seek to utilize their powerful source of energy for their own endeavors.
Here are some helpful tips for Manifesting Generators of any age-
Follow your gut instincts and move quickly on things that feel right, but make sure you are not skipping important steps or details.
Don't be afraid to experiment with different interests and projects, but be mindful of your energy levels and avoid burning out.
Stay focused on your big-picture goals and avoid getting bogged down in minor details.

The information made available to us through Human Design is not meant to be limiting in any way. On the contrary, it is meant to break us free from ‘the norm’ of societal expectations that urge us to conform to the masses. It’s my hope that this information will serve to illuminate the potential of our unique energetic blueprint by empowering our sense of self. We have certain interests and natural gifts for a reason!
